Talent Business Alliance Executive Director Appointed to Oregon’s Financial Empowerment Advisory Team

Darby Ayers-Flood, Executive Director of the Talent Business Alliance, has been appointed by Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read to serve on the Financial Empowerment Advisory Team, a statewide initiative focused on advancing financial literacy and wellness efforts for Oregonians.
The Financial Empowerment Advisory Team, works to elevate financial education and provide accessible tools to improve financial well-being across Oregon. The team guides the Oregon State Treasury’s efforts to make financial literacy resources more relevant, accessible, and impactful, particularly for individuals who may face barriers to financial empowerment.
The Financial Empowerment Advisory Team’s priorities are focused on amplifying financial education inside and outside of government and addressing systemic inequities to ensure that resources are accessible. Key goals include advancing policy solutions that improve financial wellness, lowering barriers for underserved populations, and measuring initiative impacts.
As part of her new role, Darby Ayers-Flood will join a diverse group of members and technical advisors from various government agencies to support these statewide efforts. The team holds quarterly public meetings to discuss financial education strategies, share resources, and collaborate on actionable policies that promote financial empowerment.

The team’s ongoing work is aligned with the State Treasury’s financial literacy and wellness initiatives, which include outreach for Oregon’s state-administered savings programs OregonSaves, the Oregon College Savings Plan, and the Oregon ABLE Savings Plan. These programs aim to improve savings habits and financial stability for individuals and families across the state.
The Financial Empowerment Advisory Team’s quarterly meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for community members to engage in discussions about Oregon’s financial literacy programs and policies.
