PLAY MUSIC ON THE PORCH DAY IS CANCELED DUE TO SMOKE.
Out of an abundance of caution, Play Music on the Porch Day will not be happening today.
Smoke levels have been at "Unhealthy" levels or higher for days and the sources of that smoke (Smith River Fire Complex) still very active. In good conscience, we cannot ask musicians to volunteer their time outside, in this hazardous atmosphere.
What "canceling Play Music on the Porch Day" means:
No music that we have organized on the downtown business porches is happening.
We have no deciding power as to if homeowners, businesses, or organizations continue with their plans
and are supportive of whatever they choose to do.
Our apologies and gratitude for all of your enthusiasm to participate in this event.
To the musicians who volunteered their time for this event: You are so wonderful and the community of Talent is so fortunate to be the recipient of your support and artistry.
How it all started...
Play Music on The Porch Day started out as an idea… "What if for one day everything stopped... And we all just listened to the music?" Even though this seems like a simple idea, if it worked, it could produce profound results.

Talent is officially registered as a Play Music on the Porch Day location, a global celebration that spans 70+ countries and 1000+ cities worldwide.
Host musicians on your porch, play your own instrument on your own porch or a host-porch! Turn your porch, sidewalk, or front yard into an art display, or any combination of the three!
